Vita

_{Mina Godarzani-Bakhtiari is a sociologist with research interests in urban and spatial sociology, visual sociology, sociology of knowledge, and post-/decolonial theory. She holds an M.A. in Sociology from the Technical University of Berlin and a B.A. in Sociology from the University of Potsdam. Since 2023, she has been working as a research associate in the international ORA project “Visions of Policing: How visual technologies shape police oversight and training.” In this project, she focuses in particular on how civil society organizations negotiate police work through the use of visual technologies.}

_{In her dissertation, she explores how police actions are negotiated through investigative videos produced by various actors (Forensic Architecture, journalistic visual investigation teams, and the police). She uses these investigative videos as a specific empirical entry point to examine the relationship between mediatization, violence, and space.}
